About

A quieter way to be introduced.

Southern Bells is a members-only introduction service for adults living in Knoxville and the towns around it, from Farragut and Maryville to Oak Ridge, Sevierville, Powell and Alcoa. It exists to make one thing easier: meeting people who are near enough to actually sit across a table from you. There are no lists to scroll through anonymously and no endless national feed. Every profile belongs to a person with an account, a city, a neighborhood, and something of their own to say.

The service is for grown adults who would rather be introduced properly than scanned quickly: people who have a life already and would like someone to share part of it with. Joining is free, you build your own profile at your own pace, and you decide when a conversation begins. Members browse by town and by who they would like to meet, express interest, and write to one another directly. Conversations stay private between the two people in them, and a profile is only visible to signed-in members.

Southern Bells is built and run by a small independent team based in Knoxville, Tennessee, people who live in the same region the members do and who keep the service deliberately local. We would rather have one region done well than fifty done badly. That means smaller numbers, real introductions, and a standard we can hold to.

What we hold to

  • Members, not listings

An account, a city and a portrait — a person, not an advertisement.

  • Private by design

Profiles are visible to signed-in members, and conversations stay between two people.

  • Adults only

Southern Bells is for people 18 and over. Members are asked to be honest about who they are.
